CLIMBING
FOR CHARACTER™
Climbing
for Character™ weaves character education with the world
of climbing! It is a unique curriculum that has been designed
to support the development of eight key character traits: Honesty,
Courage, Diligence, Responsibility, Kindness and Caring, Respect,
Trustworthiness and Service to Others. Climbing for Character™ contains
introductory information as well as background information
on character education. It also includes detailed lessons on
all eight character traits for students in primary, middle
and upper grades. These lessons include definitions of each
trait, suggested actions and activities to model each trait
on the wall and reminder posters for placement near the climbing
wall. To further enhance the development of these character
traits, we have included a take-home component with each lesson
to engage parents in this important topic.
