Marketed
as the Mat Locking® System, the "Safety Mat Securement Assembly," helps
to prevent the unauthorized use of a climbing wall. Safety mats attach
to the base of the climbing wall and provide padded surfacing while climbers
are using the wall. When the climbing wall is not in use, supervisors
can quickly and easily close and lock the climbing wall by hanging the
mats onto specially designed hand holds that lock the mats in place over
the climbing wall.
“The Mat Locking® System is not only an innovative product,
but an excellent safety feature for climbing walls,” said Tim Sudeith,
General Manager of Everlast Climbing. “We are proud of the work that
went into obtaining this patent and believe it’s a testament to our
ongoing focus on designing creative products for the marketplace.”
In addition to the new patent, Everlast Climbing has been awarded six
previous patents on other climbing wall products and has additional patents
pending.
